Max Factor Facefinity All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation Review
*In the USA this product is marketed as Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation.
I LOVE foundations, testing them out and searching for one that truly blows my mind is my guilty pleasure. There may only be so many shades of beige you can try but for me, the sky is the limit.
Finding a good, medium to full coverage foundation in a drugstore is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, pretty damn difficult, but this foundation… This is something that does just that - gives you medium to full coverage. Revlon Colorstay is a favourite of many (and a favourite of mine) for its coverage, staying power, shade range and much more. This foundation however, I dare say it; provides more coverage. So far in terms of drugstore level this is easily one of the fullest coverage foundations you can find.
This foundation claims to be a primer, concealer and foundation in one, I can actually stand by them. The staying power is quite decent and the foundation gives great coverage, I tested this out as a concealer too, whilst it is better than no concealer at all I find that I need to use another concealer as they provide a fuller coverage.
The finish is Demi-matte, extremely similar to DiorSkin Nude, whilst it is matte and still provides decent shine control it doesn’t make the skin look dull and unhealthy. Those with oily skin will find this provides just the right amount of oil control and those with drier skin types shouldn’t have an issue with this foundation clinging to dry spots, etc.
I like to really work my foundation into the skin, to make it look like; well actually skin. This foundation sets just a little too quickly for my liking which doesn’t allow me to use all my normal application techniques.
Max Factor Facefinity 3 in 1 Foundation Swatch Warm Almond.
The shade range is quite decent, especially for a drugstore foundation, the second shade in the range (34 Warm Almond) was a perfect match for my fair, Bobbi Brown Porcelain skin tone. Those with a lighter or a darker complexion shouldn’t experience too much difficulty in finding a perfect match. That is of course…. If it doesn’t oxidize. Sadly this foundation is one of those that fools you into thinking you have found an ideal match only to find when you check your face an hour later in the bathroom that you have slowly started to resemble an Oompa Loompa, not attractive. Oxidizing foundations are a deal breaker to me, if it was something small like it turned slightly greasy during the day the product would still be wearable; but turning 101 beige shades darker means it isn’t. Since everything else about this foundation is pretty great it really is a shame. I would suggest where possible purchase a shade lighter.
The packaging of this foundation is perfect. Glass bottle so you can see how much product you have left, plus a pump! No complaints here.
Doesn’t this review sound an awful lot like the DiorSkin Nude foundation? When I first tested this out I had to triple check that I hadn’t picked up that instead! It even crossed my mind if I should just use my review of it instead of writing out a new one. *DUPE ALERT*
